Custom orders

At the moment I can't say that I'm taking custom orders but I'm not saying I'm not :( Being over 7 months pregnant I'm not always feeling good & I'm always tired so getting my butt off my couch & into the sewing room is a very hard task! I do have some items already made so check out my Etsy Shop. I also have some NY Yankees & Mets scrub tops made so if that's what you're looking for let me know. You can also email me about making an item...it can't hurt to ask!

Tote bags

Every fabric I would have in my hand I would say "This would make a good lining" or "This would be a nice bag".... I couldn't part with any of it! So my plan is to make some simple INEXPENSIVE totes with them. The tote pictured can be found in my etsy shop for only $10!
Check back often as I plan to make a bunch more totes just like this one.

Custom Orders

Lately I've been getting a lot of emails asking for custom scrub top orders. I am sorry to say that I will not be able to take any custom orders until after October 18, 2008. I do have a couple New York Yankees & NY Mets scrub tops already made so if that is what you are looking for please send me an email at Jen@jtstitches.com & I can see if I have your size. I also have a few things in my www.jtstitches.etsy.com shop so check that out. I WILL be able to ship any items bought, I'm just unable to make any new items. I will be getting married in less than a month and need to get some things made for my own wedding.

I started making these cute cozies to keep them nice & clean & they are available in my etsy shop for $5 each. Custom orders are welcome & they can be personalized with a name or a monogram for an extra fee.

You can attach them anywhere you want with the small, light weight hook.
I have much more FABRIC HERE to choose from--if you see a pattern you like let me know. I will also be adding more to my Etsy Shop!

Moo Cards

Moo Cards
Originally uploaded by JT Stitches

When I upgraded to flickr pro, Moo gave away 10 free mini cards. These cards are the cutest little things! It was so hard to choose which ten pictures I wanted to do & which would look good in that tiny rectangle. They give you 1" X 2.75" (28mmX 70mm) rectangle & you need to slide the picture into place how you want it to look. The only thing I didn't like about that is you can't make the rectangle larger or your picture smaller so you can fit what you want into the rectangle, you can only make the picture larger. I'm sure there are ways around this, there always is. I did half of my items & half of my family. On the other side I added my (now old) advar &my business card information. The business card in the center is just to compare the size of the mini cards. They give you the option to add 6 lines & other things. They have a matt finish & are on *heavy* card-stock. You need to check them out, they are super cute!
I can't wait to take more pictures so I can get 100 more. I don't want to give any of my 10 away they're too cute!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well....
I've been super busy lately. I got hit with a bunch of orders, one being a 10 scrub top order & others from previous ebay customers. It felt good to get emails from people that have bought from me before on ebay, saying they have ordered from me before (from my ebay shop) & wanted to know how they could order more for a friend since I no longer have a shop on ebay.
I'm also planning on making my first quilt. I bought a book from amazon "Complete Guide to Quilting"

This book probably is so thick & has EVERYTHING you need to know about quilting! I'm not sure it's the kind of book you can just sit down & read cover to cover, it's more of a reference--when you are doing this with your quilt, read this chapter. I would definitely refer this book to someone that would like to learn to quilt, if you already know how to sew. My plan is to make my first quilt for my grandmother for Christmas (well, really the 2nd, I'm gonna make my 1st quilt for my dog for practice). I want to some how have all the grand kids in it. I thought this would be easy to just put a bunch of squares together.....right....the hard part is figuring out what squares to put together!! I bought printer fabric paper to add pictures & I have an embroidery machine to put names, sayings &/or designs. I'd love to hear suggestions if you have any--I'm really stuck.

Out of town till 10/16/07

I will be out of town until Tuesday 10/16. I'm going on a family weekend at my baby sisters college in Boston (Emmanuel College). I will have my iPhone & laptop so I will still be answering any emails. I won't have my sewing machine tho :(. If you order something that is already made (it will say that in the description) I will ship it when I return. I can *try* to ask my boyfriend to mail it if you need it in a hurry & it's domestic since he can print the label online & drop it off. If it is something not made yet please understand the delay in shipping.
Have a great weekend!

Fabric Destash

There is so much fabric out there that I want so bad! I just can't buy it because I have such a small apartment with about 5+ storage bins full of fabric. That would be ok if I had a house or a large apartment but I don't. I have bins all over, I even had to buy the long skinny ones so I can slide them under the bed....
I will be listing my fabric on http://JTstitches.etsy.com (fabric section http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5311482&section_id=5188021). When I buy fabric I usually only buy 1 or 2 yards of that print. It will be mentioned in the description if I have more than one yard available & if you want more than one I will edit the listing & you will receive the fabric in one uncut piece.
All my fabric comes from a smoke free home. I do have 2 dogs but they don't come near the fabric. As I mentioned, all my fabric is kept in large storage bins. All the fabric is unwashed & 100% cotton. Sometimes I'm not 100% sure if it is 100% cotton & I will mention that in the description. If it isn't 100% cotton, then it's cotton/poly blend.
Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

New Item

I've added a new category to my new etsy shop http://www.jtstitches.etsy.com/, "Headbands". I've been making them for myself for a while so I decided to make them for you all to enjoy. I will be adding more but if you see a pattern you like let me know, you can see my "Fabrics" HERE. This one is my favorite, I love the colors.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

You can see more pics HERE. I love wearing headbands, especially to work. I'm a nurse & at work I have to wear my hair up. I have a lot of hair & I get a headache after it's up for a while (I work 13 hour shifts). For me headbands help with the pressure when I have a ponytail or bun. It holds some of the weight underneath the ponytail so all the weight isn't in one spot & pulling the front of my hair back. It also helps hide those annoying "baby hairs" on the top that frizz up in the rainy or humidity. Plus, it's a hot little accessory! I also do embroidery so if you would like a personalized headband, a certain design or certain color combos you can't find let me know. Visit my website http://www.jtstitches.com/. Have a great week!

My NEW Etsy Shop

Wow, have I had a lot of changes in the past month....
I've been thinking of doing this for a while & thought I should do it now, so I did. When I signed up for Etsy in April I choose the user name "Jenni4" because it sounds like "Jennifer" (Jenni-fer) & that's how I picked it. I HATE the name Jenny & that is what I'm always getting called. I thought that would *just* be my user ID and my shop & shop's URL would be something different, like ebay. Of course I didn't read everything & it does say as clear as day during registration that it will be your shop's name & URL, duh! Since I renamed my shop & got a new domain, I decided to open a new etsy shop http://www.jtstitches.etsy.com/ & I will eventually fade out http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/. I want everything to be the same name. Since my sold & feedback numbers are low anyway I'm not really loosing much.
I will let everything at the Jenni4 shop end on its own . I will relist & list all new stuff at the new Jtstitches shop. It would make life so much easier if Etsy would just let us change our user name. But hey, I'm very happy with Etsy so I will deal with the *little* unimportant things.

If you have hearted my Jenni4 shop, I would love for you to heart me at the JTstitches shop. If you have any suggestions for me to make this switch smooth & successful I would appreciate that.

GET 10% OFF- If you see something you like at http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/, let me know before you buy it & I will list it at my new shop http://www.jtstitches.etsy.com/ with 10% off. I need to get my reputation up at my new shop ;)
I wish I could give a better discount but almost all my stuff isn't made yet & will be made after payment.

Have a great weekend!

Lov.li I got 2 sales! New item iPhone Case

Wow, this was a shocker....I signed up for lov.li a few weeks ago & I just got 2 sales within 3 days. Both sales were for Scrub tops. I was starting to think ebay was the only place for my scrub tops since they don't really sell on etsy. I almost forgot all about lov.li. That was really cool.

As I mentioned before I got an iPhone which I love. I never like the store bought cases & since I like to keep it in my bag I needed to make a cover for it. So I got corny & embroidered "iJen" with music notes on it since Apple has "i" in front of everything. I posted one on etsy & lov.li, I can make it for your iPod too. The velcro closure is a bit un-straight because it was for me & I was on my way out so I wanted to get it done, yours won't look like that, it will be neater.

You can find them in my shops: http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/ or www.lov.li/users/jenni4 for $9.99.
I also have up a gift certificate. Chose your price & I will get a listing up for you. It is so hard to shop for people so let them choose what they want. What makes it even better is if they don't see something at either http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/ or http://www.jtstitches.com/ from my photos, I always take custom orders so you can't go wrong. I make a bunch of different things so they are bound to find something. Email me if you have any questions.

Win a wallet- Rename my store

As I mentioned before, I closed my ebay store "Jens Scrubs N Stuff". Since I really HATE that name I want to change my store's name all together, something shorter. I started with that name at ebay because I was only making scrub tops & auctioning non-handmade stuff. Then, since I wanted to branch out, I opened everything else with that name. At etsy my user ID is Jenni4 not realizing that would be my store's name, I thought it would just be my user ID like at ebay. Oh well, not a big deal...I plan to keep jensscrubsnstuff.com for a year since I have pens & business cards out there floating around but I would like to get a new domain & change my store's name to something I like.

****I would love some suggestions for a new store name (which will be my new domain) from anyone. I sew, & I make bags, embroider, nurses uniforms (scrub tops), wallets....well you can check out my store http://jenni4.etsy.com/ & I'm sure I'll be adding all sorts of sewn stuff in the future so I want a name that will allow that.

If I use one of your names, I will make you a card holder/wallet (like below) with the fabric of your choice (
http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q122/jen4t25/Fabric/ or http://www.flickr.com/photos/jtstitches (they both basically have the same pics). Domain needs to be available (as a .com). My initials are JT & I really don't like the name "Jenny", I prefer Jen or Jennifer. Please post your entries here.****

I would really appreciate any help!

Closed my feebay store

Ever since I joined etsy I've abandoned my ebay store. I still had some stuff listed but I barely ever logged in & barely ever listed stuff. I would only list stuff I knew would sell if I wanted to buy myself something & needed extra cash (like my new sewing machine...I use my paypal $$ for my sewing hobby too). I finally made a decision that it was time to close the ebay store & focus all my time with etsy...which I was doing anyway LOL!. I closed it this evening but I wanted to make sure I could re-open it if I wanted to 6 months down the road. They told me their servers save the info (like the store's name/URL) for 30 days & if I wanted to reopen after that I could as long as someone else doesn't use the name.

I just did a survey with ebay as to why I closed my store....basically my answer was "Lower Fees"!

So now I'm all etsy!! Yea!!
