iWatchr App

A couple months ago I wrote a blog post about the iWatcher App my husband developed that was available in Cydia. I need to now update that post.....
Since then my husband added some cool new features to the app & it is no longer available in Cydia it is now available in the App Store. The name had to be changed because someone else took the name (very upsetting) so it is now called iWatchr (without the e). The app still does all the same things as in my old post but with a slightly different look to it & MORE!

It still:
  • Calculates the points for foods for the United States using Calories, Fat & Fiber.
  • Calculates the points for foods for European countries using Calories or Kilojoules & Saturated Fat.
  • And Calculates your activity bonus points
NOW it has a daily log!
Enter you foods & the points and it will add up your points for the day at the top.

It will also put the little red badge on your home screen with how many points you used so far

An update was sent into Apple so the daily log is saved each day that way if you had a good week or a bad week you can go back into your log & see what you did for the week.
Currently being worked on is a favorites log so you can enter the foods you eat most that way logging will be much faster.
Check out DavoliApps for more info.
This awesome app for only $0.99!!

iWatcher App

POST UPDATED check it out HERE

My boyfriend has been teaching himself Objective-C & how to develop iPhone/iPod Touch applications. He has now developed his first app called iWatcher, it's a Weight Watchers Points calculator. When I was looking in the App Store on iTunes I saw a lot of the reviews from people for the Points calculator complaining that those calculators only works for the United States, the needed Nutritional Information is different for Europe. I told Frank about this & he added the European calculator.

Version 1.0

When you first open the app it will open to this screen which is for the US calculations. Enter the Calories, Fat & Fiber from the nutritional information & click "Go" on the keyboard. (there has been an added feature since these screenshots (Activity Points) & can be seen below in Version 1.1)

If you use the European calculator tap on the European Points along the bottom which will bring you to this screen. Enter the "Calories" or "Kilojoules" and "Saturated Fat" & click go on the keyboard.

European calculation uses either Calories or Kilojoules, not both, if you enter the NI in both fields you will get an error screen. Just click ok & delete one of the fields by tapping in the box.

And last, here is a screenshot of the about page. It just basically tells you about this app & his email address where you can send suggestions & questions.

Version 1.1

Added feature to iWatcher, Activity Points. Calculate your activity points depending on your workout.
iWatcher

The about page was edited too...it will help you figure out if your workout was light, moderate or high depending on your heart rate during your workout.
iWatcher About

This app is now available in Cydia under Health Care & Fitness. You would need a jailbroken/hacked iPhone or iPod Touch in order to use this app, it is not available in the App Store at this time. If you have any questions or suggestions you can email davolifr@yahoo.com

Speck See-Thru Case

I bought the Speck See-thru case for my iPhone 3G from SpeckProducts.com.

Speck case

I wanted a thin clear case that would only cover the back & sides and I would use a screen protector for the front. The Speck cover is exactly what I was looking for. I did think it was a bit steap in price being $29 with $7.95 shipping but I bought it anyway. About I week later I received it & as soon as I took it out of the box I saw small superficial scratches. When I put it on my iPhone the scratches were right in the spot the mirror Apple Logo is so they really stuck out. I emailed Speck customer service right away & when I didn't hear back from them after a week I emailed them again. It has been 2 weeks since my 1st email & no word from Speck. I am a very unhappy customer! I would have been happy with an exchange, $38 is a lot of money for a piece of plastic to begin with & then for it to come scratched! I will NEVER buy from them again & would recommended you don't either!

iPhone 3G

I left off in my last post on Monday at 9:42 am that I was going to keep calling the Apple Store until I could find one. Well that is exactly what I did...I called all the Apple Stores that were approx 1 hour from me in the Bronx. None of them had any until at about 3:45pm the 5th Ave store got them back in (the one I was at at 7am that morning). I jumped back in my car to the subway & went back down. There was a long line & I figured it would maybe take about 2 or so hours...

...WRONG! I was there for 5 hours. If I knew I was going to be there that long I would have never stayed. But whatever, I have my beautiful iPhone 3G white 16gb

Of course Frank was dying to jailbreak it so he did

Yeah, I'm iPhone crazy too....

Like a gazillion other people I love my iPhone. When the iPhone first came out last year I didn't really think anything of it, I had my pocket pc & I was happy with that--I thought the iPhone was just like the pocket pc but with an iPod. A few months later I bought finally one mainly because the monthly plan was cheaper than my pocket PC (I was paying $90+ for my Cingular/At&t 8525 and the iPhone would have been $60+). After having it for a while, especially when we jailbroke it I fell in love. I LOVED all the 3rd party apps thru installer & loved to "customize" the look of my phone...
Lots of applications

Now the new 3G iPhone is out, what to do what to do?! A lot of the reason I love my iPhone is because of the jailbreak & all the awesome apps but unless I'm home my iPhone is so slloooowwww on Edge. So I told myself I would wait to get 3G until a jailbreak is available for the 2.0 firmware. Saturday night the dev team put out the "Pwnage Tool" which will jailbreak the new 2.0 software-- so to check out the tool we upgraded my 1st generation iPhone 1.1.3 firmware to the 2.0 firmware and if I didn't like it we would just hack it again to run on the 1.1.4 firmware so I can get back installer. My iPhone 2.0 is jailboken but installer hasn't been ported yet so it makes it kind of pointless to have a jailbroken 2.0 iPhone.

I'd have to say I do like the App Store & a couple of the new features on 2.0.
My favorite is the Push email thru "Microsoft Exchange". I really like that when I get an email I get it right away (like a blackberry)...before it would kill the battery faster when my iPhone checks with servers every 15 or 30 minutes (depending on the setting) all day to see if you have an email so Push email is awesome.
Another fav is saving an image from a website to my photos. I'm a flickr.com freak & if I want to copy a picture from my Flickr to email it to someone I can.
I also like being able to delete multiple emails at once instead of 1 by 1.
The App Store has a bunch of cool apps & I've installed a bunch of the free apps to check them out (not all are App Store apps, about 6 are web clips).

my jailbroken 2.0 iPhone

Last night I decided I'm going to get the 3G. I woke up at 5am & went downtown to the 5th Ave Apple Store so when they started selling them at 7am I would be there. The website said they had the white 16gig last night so I figured there would be a chance they would have an 8gig in the morning....not!
No 3G
This lovely sign sign said "Sorry, no 3G available today". But these iPhone fans did not care, a line was forming anyway.

I do want the phone & would have waited if I knew I would get one within an hour or so, but I'm not gonna wait hours not knowing if they will even get them today. I called a few At&t stores & they are only taking orders that can take up to 21 days.

As of now I will just keep calling the Apple Stores & hope they will get stock soon.

Lov.li I got 2 sales! New item iPhone Case

Wow, this was a shocker....I signed up for lov.li a few weeks ago & I just got 2 sales within 3 days. Both sales were for Scrub tops. I was starting to think ebay was the only place for my scrub tops since they don't really sell on etsy. I almost forgot all about lov.li. That was really cool.

As I mentioned before I got an iPhone which I love. I never like the store bought cases & since I like to keep it in my bag I needed to make a cover for it. So I got corny & embroidered "iJen" with music notes on it since Apple has "i" in front of everything. I posted one on etsy & lov.li, I can make it for your iPod too. The velcro closure is a bit un-straight because it was for me & I was on my way out so I wanted to get it done, yours won't look like that, it will be neater.

You can find them in my shops: http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/ or www.lov.li/users/jenni4 for $9.99.
I also have up a gift certificate. Chose your price & I will get a listing up for you. It is so hard to shop for people so let them choose what they want. What makes it even better is if they don't see something at either http://www.jenni4.etsy.com/ or http://www.jtstitches.com/ from my photos, I always take custom orders so you can't go wrong. I make a bunch of different things so they are bound to find something. Email me if you have any questions.
